Developing food safety policies
The Bureau has extensive experience in developing bespoke food safety policies. The principles of 'Hazard Analysis' are applied in order to ensure full compliance with current European legislation, and documentation is regularly reviewed for clients so that it is always kept up to date. The policies provide detailed standards and procedures for such issues as: Structure and Equipment / Contamination Control / Temperature Control / Personal Hygiene / Hazard Analysis / Waste Management / Allergy Control / Food Safety Legislation / Dealing with a Food Complaint / Management Control.
Food safety auditing
In order to assess an operation's level of compliance with the requirements of the Food Safety Regulations, our Environmental Health Consultants carry out a detailed assessment of the premises, equipment, practices and management systems. A written report is produced highlighting any contraventions of the legal standards and also suggesting remedial actions and any other areas for improvement. Audit reports and statistics can be managed online via our confidential, password protected RELAY Client Support Service. The report format can be individually tailored to suit the requirements of each client.
Microbiological analysis and emergency support services
We have access to a national network of laboratories, providing a resource for the microbiological examination of foods and identification of foreign bodies. If anything does go wrong in your business, such as an allegation of food poisoning, one of our consultants can make an urgent visit to your premises and help you 'crisis manage' the situation to minimise disruption to your business. They will also liaise with enforcement authorities should the need arise. And if your business is unfortunately involved in legal proceedings, The Bureau can assist with the investigation and offer Expert Witness support.
