The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 are based on a European Union Directive (2003/10/EE and require the protection of workers from the risks of hearing damage caused by exposure to noise. Hearing damage caused by exposure to noise is permanent and incurable and it is estimated that over 2 million people are exposed to noise levels at work that can be harmful.

Chef has been in work since 6.30 a.m.  It’s now 3.00pm and she has to attend a two hour training session on Kitchen Safety…. a challenge or what?  She will have walked a good few miles throughout the course of the day and worked extremely hard, creating a superb lunch service.
